Karla V. Weber focuses her practice on immigration, environmental, and energy law. Karla is a 2015 graduate of Florida State University and earned her Juris Doctor in 2019 from Belmont University College of Law. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
In her immigration practice, Karla has represented clients in removal defense proceedings in courts across the country. Her practice area includes cases relating to asylum, withholding of removal, and the overlap between immigration and criminal law. She also represents clients in the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, asylum interviews, domestic violence cases, Special immigrant Juvenile proceedings, and relevant petitions aiming to keep families safe and together.
Before entering private practice, Karla served as an Assistant State Attorney in Tallahassee, Florida, where she prosecuted domestic violence and other cases, and developed a passion for helping survivors escape abuse and persecution.
In her environmental and energy practice, Karla analyzes environmental risks and helps to advise clients facing environmental challenges and assists renewable energy developers obtain Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity from the Maryland Public Service Commission.
Karla is admitted to practice in Maryland, Florida, and the District of Columbia.
