Contract Law
Doing business with State and local government agencies can be complicated and requires strict compliance with the applicable rules and regulations. We have helped clients respond to requests for proposals (RFPs), challenged and defended bid protests, and appealed decisions to procurement officers and to the Maryland Board of Contract Appeals.
Attorney Maggie Witherup became familiar with Maryland procurement laws and regulations as a former Assistant Attorney General for the Maryland Port Administration. Among her duties as an AAG, Ms. Witherup was responsible for reviewing and approving all of the MPA’s procurement contracts for form and legal sufficiency, as well as defending the State from bid protests and contract claims. Ms. Witherup understands how government agencies operate, as well as the unique challenges and constraints faced by government agencies.
